Florent Thinon, Le Crozet, 2025

£26.00

On the palate, it is bright and finely structured, with a linear acidity that gives tension and focus. Flavours of lemon zest, pear skin, and a hint of almond unfold with clarity, supported by a gentle creaminess from well-judged lees aging. The finish is long, clean, and mineral-driven, leaving a mouth-watering impression.

Part of the young generation bringing energy and buzz in the volcanic part of the Loire Valley. Once forgotten, this region is now brimming with dynamic vignerons. Florent trained in Beaune, mingling with sons and daughters of famed Burgundian estate like Domaine Pierre Yves Colin Morey, Arnoux-Lachaux and Cornu. Sometimes temping for them. At the same time, heling his uncle switch the Domaine towards organic and biodynamic viticulture. He trained in Beaujolais at Chateau Thivin and with local icons Domaine Serol and Domaine des Berioles. The vineyards are vastly planted with Gamay Saint Romain (7ha) and a few, recently planted, plots of Chenin blanc (1ha). His winemaking style is flawless, hand harvest in small crates, 30 to 40% whole bunch fermentation with indigenous yeast and fermentation in concrete tank.
