The 2023 Saint-Joseph Blanc from Sylvain Gauthier’s Domaine Les Pierres Sèches is a graceful and quietly expressive white Rhône, delivering poise and texture in equal measure.

Sylvain Gauthier is a rising star in Saint Joseph. Originally from the French Moselle, where his father had an organic vineyard, he moved to the Rhone to work at Domaine du Tunnel in Cornas and Chapoutier. In 2007 he found vineyards around Cheminas on steep granite slopes and terraces. Little by little he grew his Domaine that now tallies to 10 hectares. 7 hectares of which are in Saint Joseph appellation and 3 ha of altitude vin de pays. In 2020 he built a new cellar high up in the hills above Ozon, allowing him to be even more detailed in his work.
