Domaine La Rouviole, Pok Pok Rosé 2024
£16.00

Fresh and vibrant, this 100% Cinsault rosé from Minervois shows bright aromas of redcurrant, pomegranate, and a hint of citrus. Lightly aged on lees in stainless steel for five months, it has a crisp, elegant texture and a refreshing, lively finish.

Located in heartland of the Minervois – within the prestigious cru La Livinière to be exact - Domaine La Rouviole spans 40 hectares of vineyards, forests, and scrubland in a single block. Nestled into Montagne Noire at an altitude of 200-250 meters, the estate has been organically certified since 2011 and began converting to biodynamic practices, reaching certification with their 2024 vintage.

La Livinière cru (where they have over 90% of their vines) forms part of the "Petit Causse" zone, which has a particularly warm micro-climate and fosters early-ripening. The soils here alternate between compact limestone and clay, allowing for deep water retention and forcing vine roots to penetrate deeply. This combination results in concentrated, warm, and complex wines with excellent aging potential. It is also important to note that the vines are interspersed with an array of aromatic plants – such as thyme, rosemary, lavender, as well as cherry and olive trees –further adding to the biodiversity of the estate, and adding further complexity to the wines.

In the cellar, winemaking focuses on preserving terroir expression, beginning with hand harvesting in the vines
